reflections and ramblings of a sixth grader

Erupt!

April6

This is about a book, but is not a book review. It was just the plot that got me thinking. In this book, there is a boy who moves to a new school and is mean to everyone. He introduces himself as a different person just so he can have something in common with one person in his class. After being so mean to the whole class, one boy gets to know the real him. They become great friends and come up with a plan to reintroduce him to the class.

This book got me thinking about friendship. It is such a strong thing. I know I have talked about it before, but it is just so important. The boy in this book made friends with someone who my have proved himself mean, but really was a sweet person. Books like theses are very inspiring to me.

Just remember, the next time you are having a concert or its a holiday, ask your mom to bring her camera or bring yours, so you can take a picture and save a memory with just a push of  the button on a camera!

Take a picture today!!!!!

Snow Days!!!

January12

I love snow days. There are good and bad things about snow days though. The good thing about snow days is that it gives you an extra day off to catch up on sleep, go play in the snow, hang out with friends or just hang around the house. The bad thing about snow days is that you miss a day of school. Maybe you had something important to do that day. You have to find another time to do those things because the snow days took away your time. I do not mind make up work because I love taking a day off to spend time in the snow. For example yesterday I went over to my friends house and we made snow houses. We really made snow beds, snow tables, snow chairs, and much more. There are good and bad things about snow days but the next time you have a snow day just enjoy the extra time off of school. Then the next day you can worry about making up school work or missed practices or whatever you need to make up.

thank you,

Edie

Gratitude!!!

December15

Gratitude. What to say? Gratitude is being grateful for something. You can have gratitude for something as big as life, but still have gratitude for something as small as a small stone your dad gave you. Gratitude is important, especially during the holidays. Just remeber, when your opening your gifts, try to have gratitude for the thought put into them. GRATITUDE is the key!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The next thing we had to do was i color test. I loved the color test too. My color ended up being blue. This was expected though. I have always been caring. The discription of blue was, Blue is a color that has been shown to soothe the central nervous system. It fosters psychological contentment and physical tranquility. It can be said that when a person is feeling BLUE, they are experiencing emotional intensity and sensitivity to the dramas of life. The figure of speech referring to “True Blues” takes on the meaning of friendship, helpers, “there when you need them” individuals that will go the extra mile for others.

I did not write that. I copied it from the True Colours website. It was their description of blue.

anyway, I copletely agree with the outcome of the color test ( quiz ). Blue was only my dominant color. My secondary color was orange. My third color was green. Finally my lowest color was gold. Each color got a certain amount of points. Blue got 16 points. Orange got 9 points. Green got 8 points. Gold got 3 points ( the lowest number of points ). I will now show you the descriptions of  the colors orange, green, and gold. Orange’s description was, Orange is a color often used to promote action, motivation, excitement. Orange urges you to PAY ATTENTION – wake up and seize the moment, make quick decisions…take advantage of the immediate opportunity available right now! Orange encourages a playful atmosphere of activity and movement. Think of the flash of fire, shimmer of sparklers on the fourth of July or the flame of a match – hot, dazzling, Orange energy. Green’s descript was,

Green is an expression of the logic – the system of existence and the abundance of this color in nature. Greens are concerned with the world’s challenges, such as preserving the wisdom of mother earth for the future. Psychological research has shown the color Green to have a calming effect and many Greens demonstrate a composed demeanor using mind over emotion to orchestrate and solve the mysteries of life. Gold’s description was,

Gold is a color with numerous metaphors associated with it. Think of the common phrase, “Good as Gold”. It represents value, stability and strength. The expression “Solid Gold work ethic” conjures up an image of someone who is very responsible… on time, organized, fulfills their obligations with stellar dependability, efficiency and thoroughness. The classic expression “sets the Gold standard” is also a suitable fit.

Again those descriptions belong to the True Colors website.

what inspires me

August25

I love happiness! Happiness is not only an emotion but a choice you have to make. If you choose to be happy, you will be happy but, if you choose to be sorrowful you will be sorrowful. You control your emotions and the way you feel about things. I used happiness as a big theme on my Inspiration Board! Happiness inspires me!
